The ERL Hemi 426 Short block is now available direct from ERL. This short block is known to be the finest on the market. We started out building all of Power Ported’s Hemi Short blocks. The short block is built for power levels up to 1200HP. These quality Hemi short blocks that were exclusively for Power Ported are now available to everybody. ERL will continue to guarantee their short blocks with a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty.
A traditional closed deck block uses the deck as a structural member to contain both torsional and side load forces. The natural twisting motion generated by a crankshaft-driven engine as well as piston thrust loads, motor mounts and accessory mounting all transmit through the deck surface. The ERL Super Deck II truss design transmits these forces BELOW the deck and BETWEEN the cylinder bores. This allows the Cylinders to stay more round than a free-standing, open deck design.
Price: 9,900.00 USD
The truss design of the ERL Superdeck I adds unmatched strength and stability to the bock and deck surface. By standing the aluminum on edge and attaching the ends to hold it vertical, the force required to cause deflection greatly increases. This allows a thin section to outperform the much thicker decks. Traditional aftermarket Race Blocks increase deck thickness and reduce water access to the deck to aid in head gasket retention. Most aftermarket blocks increase the factory decks from a 3/8” to 5/8” thickness...
The ERL Dry Sleeve system is designed as an economical way to achieve bores between 3.897” and 4.125”. The dry sleeve system replaces the stock cast iron sleeves with high strength ductile iron sleeves. These sleeves are made of ductile iron that is 3 times stronger than cast iron. This design ensures good sleeve stability as well as water jacket seal. These sleeves are machined and installed at ERL using high precision CNC machines. The sleeves are installed in the block with a press fit to ensure proper location.
